This month, Daniel Diab marks ten years at Taylor. As a Senior Project Engineer, he has spent that time working his way up from cadet through to one of Taylor's most consistent deliverers, across health, education, and commercial projects throughout NSW.
Daniel joined Taylor as a cadet and the people who worked with him early on noticed quickly that he was someone worth keeping around. At Chatswood Place, his team refused to rotate him off the project on two occasions. A nomination at the time said it all: "Daniel's input was so valued he was not rotated on two occasions as he was an integral part of the team."
From there: Lindfield Learning Village Stage 1, Delmar Private Hospital, and a series of commercial refurbishments in the Sydney CBD. Then the John Cunningham Student Centre at Scots College, one of the most technically demanding projects Taylor has delivered in recent years. More than 700 RFIs. An architect whose design pushed subcontractors and materials to their limits. Daniel navigated all of it, deepening his contractual knowledge alongside his technical skills and building client relationships that outlasted the project. He was nominated for Taylor's Listen Award three years running.
Currently, Daniel is delivering the Anne Johnstone Wellbeing and Sport Centre as Senior Project Engineer for Ravenswood School for Girls.

What the team says
Construction Director Ben Folkard has watched Daniel grow across more than a decade: "Dan started off a quiet, kind of shy cadet but has grown into a solid team player who is now on the cusp of running his own projects. That combination, someone who pushes a project hard and makes the team around him better, is not easy to find.
Beyond the site
Daniel has made time for the communities around Taylor's sites throughout his career. At Ravenswood School for Girls, he has led site tours for students, teachers, and the wider community. He championed the Name the Crane competition with the junior school, presenting alongside teammates and hosting a Q&A session with students. It is the kind of contribution that does not show up in a project schedule but stays with the people who were part of it.
