Impact.
Created to leave things better.
The buildings we construct will outlast us. That's a responsibility: to the environment, to the communities we build in, and to the people who will use these spaces for decades to come. We take it seriously.
ESG Framework
ESG isn’t a reporting exercise for Taylor: it’s how we make decisions.
Environmental, social, and governance considerations are built into how we choose projects, how we deliver them, and how we manage our people and supply chain. Not because the industry demands it, because the communities we build for deserve it.
Environmental Sustainability
Through monitoring, analysis, and collaboration, we’re building an increasingly detailed view of our environmental impacts – and taking action to improve outcomes in the areas where we have influence.

Climate Pledge Signatory
Exceeding Green Star Targets
Climate Change Action
Taylor has signed The Climate Pledge alongside Amazon and fellow signatories; we’re working to decarbonise our industry through real changes to how we build, not just how we report.
Circular Economy & Waste
Taylor consistently recycles more than 90% of construction waste, and we're not stopping there. We're working with partners to repurpose and reuse waste streams, increase segregation on site, and push the number higher.
Biodiversity & Land Use
Taylor recognises that our construction operations have an impact on, and around, the sites where we build – and we are seeking ways to protect biodiversity and native flora and fauna in these places.
ESD Leadership
Experts in their field, our sustainability leaders ensure compliance, manage key stakeholders, promote sustainability initiatives, and ensure that Taylor’s commitment to sustainability permeates all aspects of our operations.

Low Embodied Carbon Materials
The First Building and Wildlife Retreat used FSC and PEFC-certified Cross Laminated and Glue Laminated Timber, rammed earth, and pigmented concrete to reduce embodied carbon, enhance thermal performance, and reflect local culture through sustainable design and construction.
Design for Disassembly
The First Building’s modular ‘kit of parts’ enables future adaptability, reuse, and relocation—supporting circular construction through prefabricated, mechanically fastened timber and steel components designed for easy disassembly.
Renewable Energy Adoption
Taylor integrates solar PV and battery systems into our builds, reducing emissions, lowering grid reliance, and delivering energy performance that holds up long after handover.
Safeguarding Native Flora
At PolAir Bankstown Airport, Taylor adapted construction methods to protect the endangered Hibbertia Fumana, coordinating with ecologists and stakeholders to preserve the species without compromising delivery. Biodiversity and program don't have to conflict.
Recycling 20,000 Bricks
At Rosebery Engine Yards, Taylor salvaged more than 20,000 bricks and heritage elements from the existing structure. The materials stayed on site, in the building, where they belong.
Taylor Charity Golf Day
$101,000 raised at our 2026 Annual Charity Golf Day, taking our total for the Sporting Chance Cancer Foundation past $575,000 across seven years. Those funds support the James Tedesco Outreach Program, bringing specialist paediatric cancer care closer to home for rural and regional families.
Taylor Learning Partnership Program
The Taylor Learning Partnership Program with Ravenswood School for Girls embedded Year 9 students in live construction projects. Following the 2025 program with Roseville College, 88% said it increased their interest in a construction career and 100% would recommend it to other students.
Ravenswood Art Prize (Indigenous Female Artists)
Taylor was the Major Partner of the 2026 Ravenswood Australian Women's Art Prize, joining at its landmark 10th anniversary. Opening Night welcomed more than 350 guests, celebrating ten years and over 1,000 finalists. We are proud to be returning as Major Partner in 2027.
Unlocking Student Cities - PCA Sponsorship
Taylor sponsored the Property Council of Australia's NSW event, Student Cities: Unlocking Sydney's University Precinct Potential, held in Barangaroo. Our COO Elliot Hicks opened proceedings, describing student accommodation as one of the few sectors where education, housing, and city-shaping pull in the same direction. Solving the supply gap will take collaboration.
Future Connect
Future Connect brings emerging construction professionals together for real industry connection, not a networking event with name tags, but genuine peer community for the people shaping the industry's next decade.Governance
Taylor holds itself to a high standard, not because compliance requires it, but because our clients, our people, and our supply chain deserve it. Our governance framework is reviewed and updated regularly, and every policy is available for scrutiny.
Principle Driven Policies
Taylor's policies cover the full scope of our obligations, from workplace safety and environmental impact to modern slavery and human rights. We meet legislative requirements as a minimum. The standard we hold ourselves to is higher

Social Sustainability
People are the measure. Taylor’s social impact work runs through three areas: the people who work here, the communities around our sites, and the industry we are part of. Each one matters. Each one has specific targets behind it.

Safety, Health & Wellbeing
Our culture of care framework shapes how we look after people at Taylor. It recognises eight dimensions of wellbeing: physical, emotional, social, occupational, financial, intellectual, environmental, and spiritual. Each is supported by practical initiatives across our projects and offices, from fatigue management and Mental Health First Aiders through to peer support groups and development planning.
Fatigue management, personal protective equipment, and pre-employment health checks. Keeping people physically safe on site is the foundation everything else is built on.
Mental Health First Aiders on our projects, access to our Employee Assistance Program and EAP-hosted webinars, manager training in recognising early warning signs, and our Making Respect Real training.
Peer support groups organised by job family, so you can talk with people who understand your role, alongside monthly lunch events across our sites and offices.
The Taylor Talent Program brings together performance reviews, talent reviews, and professional development plans, giving you a clear view of your progress and where you are heading.
Access to financial advice and superannuation education. Financial pressure affects wellbeing at work, so we provide the support to help you plan with confidence.
Training and development opportunities, with defined pathways for growing your skills. Learning continues throughout your career here rather than stopping once you are established in a role.
Well-maintained site amenities, noise and weather controls, and considered workplace design. The physical environment people work in every day shapes how they experience the job.
A sense of purpose in the work we do, connection to the communities we build in, and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations.
Diversity & Inclusion
We are committed to building a workforce that reflects the communities we work in, and to creating opportunity through the way we deliver our projects. Our strategic priorities reflect this commitment, with a number of initiatives underway to improve social outcomes for our employees, communities, and the people who live, work and play in the places we build.
Different backgrounds and experience sharpen how we solve problems on site and in the office. We treat diversity as a practical advantage for project outcomes rather than a box to tick.
We track and report on workforce diversity across our projects, including women in trade and non-traditional roles, with a focus on addressing skills shortages and building capability for the work ahead.
Apprenticeships, traineeships, and structured programs for people starting out, alongside on-the-job training and learning opportunities that support young people entering construction and progressing through it.
We work to increase the number of women in our workforce, across trade roles, non-traditional roles, and senior positions, opening pathways into an industry where women remain underrepresented.
We partner with local Aboriginal Land Councils and maintain an extensive network of Aboriginal-owned suppliers and subcontractors, with committed spend targets on every project. Cultural awareness training, ceremony, and artwork by Aboriginal artists are embedded in how we deliver.
As a Sydney-based contractor working across NSW, we engage local businesses, subcontractors, and suppliers so the economic benefit of each project stays in the community around the site.
Community Engagement
We work to create lasting impact in the communities where we live and work, through strategic partnerships and sponsorships, hands-on volunteering, fundraising, and educational outreach. Prioritising these areas helps us drive positive change, nurture emerging talent, and support a brighter future for the people around our projects.
Seven consecutive years partnering with SCCF through our Annual Charity Golf Day, raising over $550K towards outreach programs and mobile home care units supporting regional children living with cancer.
Over $1 million raised for PIF across more than fifteen years, through Tour de PIF, fundraising events, and in-kind fit-out support, all directed at increasing housing for homeless youth.
Our fifteen-year PCA partnership keeps us connected to industry leadership, policy advocacy, and the talent pipeline shaping Australia's built environment. A deliberate investment in the industry's future.
Our proven, multi-week industry education program for high school students embeds Year 9 students in live construction projects, giving them direct exposure to the industry and the professional roles within it.
Major Partner of the 2026/27 Art Prize, Australia's highest-value award for women artists, celebrating women whose achievements stand in a field where they have historically been underrepresented.
Our series for emerging construction professionals, bringing younger people together from across the industry for networking, peer connection, and insight into where construction is heading.
Our NAWIC membership supports industry-wide advocacy for a more diverse workforce, work that produces better built outcomes and that no single company can do alone.
We are the gold sponsor for the student-led BEA, providing mentoring, site tours, emerging technology lectures, and career pathways workshops for students across property, design, architecture, and building.
