As part of the planning process, Taylor researched the site and relevant documentation, met with multiple project stakeholders, and analysed the risks and drivers of the project. Given Taylor's significant zoo, retail, and refurbishment and live environment experience, we were able to draw upon prior lessons learned to apply to this project.
The successful management of the site and access was an imperative element for the overall delivery of this significant project. Taylor has delivered many projects within live environments and understood the unique risks associated with projects of this scale. Minimising disruption to the zoo's animals, staff, and visitors, as well as maintaining operations and access throughout construction were key priorities of this project.
Additionally, it was crucial to ensure nominated tree and environmental protection during construction. Nura Diya Australia will provide zoo visitors with a truly innovative and immersive wildlife experience amongst Australia's unique animals, plants, and Aboriginal culture.
