Taylor's Emerging Talent Program recently headed out on site, with Cadets, Graduates, and Apprentices visiting Uniting Westmead for a firsthand look at a residential build project in its final stages of completion.
The visit gave the cohort a chance to experience a different type of project entirely - watching how the final weeks of a residential build come together, from defect clearing through to handover preparation. For a number of participants, it was their first time on a residential site, offering a perspective that sits well outside the commercial work they encounter day-to-day.
There's something grounding about stepping onto a project in those final weeks - and for a cohort still early in their careers, seeing a building on the cusp of handover is a reminder of what all the work adds up to.
